I’ve come full circle. After 10 years in the high‑end audio retail industry and more than 40 years as a passionate hobbyist, my journey with music has led me back to where it all began.

In the 1980s, during my secondary school days, there was no Spotify, Tidal, or Apple Music. Parties were fueled by turntables spinning 12‑inch singles, mirror balls hanging from the ceiling, and the unmistakable magic of vinyl. There was just something about the sound — warm, alive, and unforgettable.

Then came the 2000s, and with them the rise of streaming platforms. Convenience took over, and my cherished records faded into memory. Services like Tidal and Spotify quenched my thirst for music, but something was missing — the ritual, the ownership, the tactile joy of holding music in my hands.

Then one day I bought an Audio Technica LP5. That moment reignited my love for vinyl, and I began collecting records again. What a journey it has been. I rediscovered the missing piece I had lost for so many years: the joy of owning music, the sound that never fatigues the ears, and the ritual that makes listening feel sacred.

And so, after decades of change, I’ve come full circle — back to vinyl, back to the beginning, back to the purest form of my love for music.
